Golden Eagles Through 36 Holes at NCAA Regional

NORMAN, Okla. --Â In a loaded NCAA Regional field, the Southern Miss women's golf team is in 10th place following the first two rounds of play at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla.Â
Southern Miss' historic day was highlighted by a pair of one-under 71s from Louise Cuyvers and Momoka Ando in the second round. Cuyvers leads the Golden Eagles on the leaderboard as she is in a tie for 14th after shooting a 73-71 (144) on Monday. Ando, who won the Sun Belt individual title, is in a tie for 25th after tallying a three-over 75 in the opening round.Â
Taylor Trible enjoyed a two-over 74 to start her regional play and then followed with a seven-over 79 in the afternoon round. The junior is in 56th through her first two rounds of play. Ragini Navet is in 62nd after posting a four-over 76 and a nine-over 81. Senior Elena Melich posted a six-over 78 to start her day but shot an eight-over 80 to slide to a tie for 63rd.Â
Stanford, who won the 2024 National Championship, leads the field at 16-under par. Northwestern, Michigan State, Baylor, Tulsa and North Carolina round out the top five - Tulsa and North Carolina are tied for the final spot. The top five teams will advance to the National Championships at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.Â
Due to inclement weather in the Tuesday forecast, the final round won't tee off until 1 p.m. at the earliest. The final round will be played on Wednesday if the weather does not allow for any golf to be played tomorrow.Â
