Beach Volleyball’s Regular Season Ends at Lone Star Invitational

AUSTIN, Texas – Southern Miss (12-23) wrapped up its 2025 regular season with a 3-0 loss to No. 6 Cal Poly as the Mustangs took the first three points of the last match in the Lone Star Invitational. The dual was played to completion with two flights abandoned after the third point.

The Mustangs (26-6) collected wins at the second, fourth and third flights, in order, to finish off Southern Miss' time in the Texas state capital. Southern Miss' regular season closes with a 12-23 record ahead of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

Southern Miss heads to Foley, Ala., for the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Beach Volleyball Championship at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex. The Golden Eagles earned the sixth overall seed in the field and will take on three-seed UNCW on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
A win places the Golden Eagles in a 4:30 p.m. winner's bracket match against the winner of the two-seed Georgia State and seven-seed College of Charleston match. A loss to the Seahawks will give Southern Miss the rest of the afternoon off as they return to action on Friday at 10 a.m. in the loser's bracket match against either Georgia State or College of Charleston.
