Women's Golf Finishes in Third as Final Round is Rained Out

HUMACAO, Miss. -- The Southern Miss women's golf team claimed a third-place finish at the Puerto Rico Shootout after Thursday's final round went unplayed due to poor weather conditions.

Freshman Louise Cuyvers finished in a tie for fifth after finishing one-under par over 36 holes. Momoka Ando and Alma Betoret finished tied for 14^th, while Taylor Trible finished in 28^th.

UNC Greensboro took home the team title, while Sun Belt foe James Madison finished in second. The Golden Eagles tied with Boston College for third and Florida Gulf Coast rounded out the top five.

The Golden Eagles return to action on March 16 for the Bama Beach Bash as Golf Shores Golf Club. The three-day event will feature 18 holes of play on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
