Southern Miss Men’s Golf Returns to Action at the All-American Intercollegiate Monday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's golf team returns to action with the All-American Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, being played at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas.

There will be a team and an individual component for this tournament. The 54-hole, two-day event for the team will take place on the par-72, 7,422-yard Tournament Course, while the Individual portion plays out on the par-72, 7,508-yard Member Course. The action starts on Monday with 36 continuous holes beginning with an 8 a.m., shotgun start.

Sophomore Benjamin Hernandez (Asuncion, Paraguay), freshman Matthew Javier (Toronto, Ontario), senior Ryan Dupuy (Baton Rouge, La.), sophomore Supakorn Amornchaichan (Pattaya City, Thailand) and junior Will Burnham (Jackson, Miss.) take place in the team event.

Both redshirt sophomore Walker Wise (Tupelo, Miss.) and sophomore Tommy Latter (Mississauga, Ontario) are slated to participate as individuals.

Since joining the team at mid-semester, Fernandez holds a 70.44 stroke per round average over his first nine rounds, while Javier is next at 71.62 over all 21 rounds during the campaign.

Along with the Golden Eagles, the 16-team field includes host Houston and its "B" squad, Lamar, North Texas, Penn, Rice, Sam Houston, TCU, Texas State, Troy, ULM, UNLV, UTRGV, UTSA and Yale.
