Southern Miss Downs Nicholls for First Win of the Season

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's tennis team (1-5) picked up their first win of the season with a 5-2 victory over Nicholls on Sunday afternoon in Hattiesburg.
The Golden Eagles secured the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. Pasawee Reansuwong and Ricards Spaks cruised to a 6-0 win at the top spot, while Charlie Brady and Ritabrata Sarkar delivered a 6-0 shutout on court three.
In singles action, Southern Miss stayed strong with four wins. Olle Noltorp dominated on court one, taking down Maxwell Lindstedt 6-0, 7-6. Ricards Spaks controlled court five with a 6-2, 6-2 win, while Sarkar notched another singles victory in a three-set battle on court six, prevailing 6-3, 5-7, 6-3. Reansuwong clinched the win for the Golden Eagles with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Felipe Spagnuolo at Line 4.
Nicholls picked up its two points with wins on courts two and three, where Kotaro Matsumura and Colin Tavares earned hard-fought three-set victories.
Southern Miss will take a week off, resuming play on Friday, February 28th to host North Alabama.
