Lady Eagles Open Conference Play Against South Alabama

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Lady Eagles look to open the first week of 2025-26 conference play against South Alabama on Thursday evening in Reed Green Coliseum. The two teams will face off at 5 p.m. for the team's Gold Out game, in which fans are encouraged to show their support by wearing gold.
The Lady Eagles (7-4) are starting fresh in Sun Belt play after falling to Mississippi State 87-64 on Dec. 14 in Starkville. South Alabama (7-3) enters after defeating North Alabama 70-58 in Mobile.
Lee Roberts (PxP) and Larry Boyd (Color) will lead the broadcast on ESPN+ with Jason Baker, the Voice of the Lady Eagles, and Kay James calling the game on the Southern Miss Sports Network. The Lady Eagle Courtside Pregame Show begins at 4:30 p.m.

Hayleigh Breland heads into Thursday after leading the Lady Eagles against Mississippi State with her second-highest scoring game with 24 points, finishing the game with a trio of three-pointers and a .588 field goal percentage.
Morgan Sieper hit shots from the arc in tande with Breland, landing 5-6 to amount to a .833 three-pointer percentage. Jakayla Johnson, Melody Thames, Carly Keats, and Sakyia White rounded out the starting five from Sunday. White finished with 2-2 at the free throw line and finished with two steals.
As a team, South Alabama is scoring 75.1 points per game and making an average of 7.7 three pointers per game on .393 percentage. Jaguar Head Coach Yolisha Jackson is in her third season leading the Jaguars with a 22-50 record for the program.
