Volleyball Places Three on All-Conference Teams

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss Volleyball placed three student athletes on the Sun Belt All-Conference Teams, as the league office announced Wednesday afternoon. Sadie McAda earned first team all-conference honors, while Brynn Botkin and Sunni Sheppard were third team all-conference selections.

McAda ranks among the league's most productive attackers, sitting seventh overall with 3.50 kills per set and eighth with 3.96 points per set. Defensively, she is one of the top back-row contributors in the Sun Belt, averaging 3.65 digs per set. Her 219 total digs are the most among all non-liberos in the conference.

Botkin ranks second on the team with 160 kills and 2.86 kills per set and finished the regular season, averaging 3.38 digs per set. Botkin's serve has been a significant weapon as well, finishing third in Sun Belt play with 0.45 aces per set, highlighted by a record-setting 10-ace performance against Arkansas State.

Sheppard has been a force defensively, finishing the regular season with 4.37 digs per set and more than 340 total digs-one of the highest totals in the conference. Beyond her digging numbers, she ranks among the top ten in the Sun Belt with 25 total aces and a 0.32 aces per set. Sheppard also reached a major milestone this season by surpassing 1,000 career digs, as well as posting 39 digs in a match to break the school record within the rally-scoring era.

The Golden Eagle kick off their run in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in the first round against Georgia State on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 1:30 p.m. in Foley, Alabama.
