Baseball Releases 2026 Schedule

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss third-year baseball coach Christian Ostrander announced the school's 54-game, 2026 schedule Tuesday morning.
A 28-game home schedule awaits the Golden Eagles, which includes non-conference tilts at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field against Alabama (Feb. 24) Mississippi State (March 3) and Ole Miss (March 10) on consecutive Tuesdays. The Golden Eagles will also travel to Round Rock, Texas, for the Round Rock Classic and will play Purdue, Oregon State and Baylor, Feb. 20-22.
The season ticket renewal process for the home schedule will begin Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 10 a.m.
Southern Miss comes off a 47-16 record, a 21st NCAA Tournament appearance, and its third Sun Belt Conference tournament championship game berth in as many seasons. They finished second in the league during the regular season at 24-6. Southern Miss received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament as they hosted a regional for the fourth time overall and the second time in the last four seasons.
The Golden Eagles open the season, Feb. 13-15, with a three-game series against first-time opponent UC Santa Barbara.
After a midweek road trip to Southeastern Louisiana (Feb. 17), the Golden Eagles travel to Round Rock, Texas, to play in the Round Rock Classic presented by Karbach Brewing Company. Southern Miss opens the event Friday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m., versus Purdue, before taking on 2025 CWS participant Oregon State, Saturday, Feb. 21, at 5 p.m. They conclude the tournament, Sunday, Feb. 22, with Baylor at 3 p.m.
The following Tuesday, Feb. 24, starts three-straight weeks of playing host to SEC opponents starting with Alabama before going on the road for the second consecutive weekend with a three-game set at Louisiana Tech (Feb. 26-March 1).
The Golden Eagles then play host to Mississippi State (March 3) and Nicholls (March 4), before finishing the non-conference home weekend slate with a series against North Alabama (March 6-8).
Southern Miss continues at home for a single tilt versus Ole Miss, March 10, before embarking on Sun Belt Conference play. Southern Miss opens league competition at Arkansas State (March 13-15) and will also travel to SBC foes Old Dominion (April 2-4), Louisiana (April 10-12), South Alabama (April 24-26) and James Madison (May 8-10).
Home league series include Troy (March 20-22), App State (March 27-29), Texas State (April 17-19), ULM (May 1-3) and Georgia Southern (May 14-16).
In addition, Southern Miss plays home non-conference contests against Southeastern Louisiana (March 31) and New Orleans (April 7) and Tulane (April 21). For midweek travel tilts, the team hits the road to face Mississippi State (March 24) and Tulane (April 28), while also playing neutral site games playing against Nicholls at Keesler Federal Park (March 17) in Biloxi, Miss., as well as at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Miss., when they meet Ole Miss (April 14).
The top 10 teams from the Sun Belt regular season will then meet in Montgomery, Ala., May 19-24, for the league's baseball championship tournament. Those games will be played at Riverwalk Stadium, the home of the Montgomery Biscuits, and Double A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.
