Volleyball heads to ULM to Begin Conference Play

MONROE, La.- The Golden Eagles are back on the road this week to compete against ULM on Friday and Saturday in Monroe. This will kick off Sun Belt conference play.
Southern Miss currently has a 9-0 all-time series record against ULM, which the last match played being a 3-0 win in 2023.
The Golden Eagles also lead the matchup in multiple statistical categories, the most notable being 2.1 blocks per set compared to ULM's 1.3. Torrey Tkach leads the Golden Eagles with seven solo blocks and 44 block assists.
Sunni Sheppard leads both teams with the most digs so far this season, with 200. Playing libero for the Golden Eagles, she currently has a .925 receive percentage and leads the conference at 4.55 digs/set.
The Golden Eagles head into the weekend 4-8 overall after defeating Jackson State and dropping two matches to Mississippi State on the road last week. Tkach held down the fort offensively, earning a .410 hitting percentage last week.
Francesca Panunzio earned 91 assists last week, orchestrating the Golden Eagle offense.
The Warhawks are 4-8 heading into conference play.
