Outdoor Track and Field Captures 17 Top Eight Finishes in the LSU Alumni Gold Meet

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss outdoor track and field squad collected 17 top eight finishes Saturday at the LSU Alumni Gold Meet in Baton Rouge, La.

Seventh of those were accomplished on the women's side, including three from Jada McDougle, which finishes second in the 200 meters with a 23.061, fourth as a leg in the 4x100 relay squad that compiled a 44.03 and sixth in the 100 meters with a 11.42.

Ten top eight finishes came on the men's side as De'Aundre Ward finished third in the long jump with a mark of 7.64 meters, while also serving as a leg on the 4x100 relay team that placed eighth with a 40.85. Kingsley Unorji was also a member of the 4x100 team, while also placing sixth in the 100 meters with a 10.30.

The Golden Eagles return to action next weekend when they play host to the Southern Miss Open April 26-27.
