Women's Golf Completes Day Two of SBC Championships

POINT CLEAR, Ala. – Southern Miss women's golf dropped to seventh at the Sun Belt Championships following Tuesday's second round. Merche Corbacho continued to pace the Golden Eagles at Lakewood Golf Club as the senior is in a five-way tie for third.
Momoka Ando jumped 12 spots on the individual leaderboard after posting a two-over 74, which was the lowest score any Southern Miss golfer posted in the second round. Corbacho enjoyed a trio of birdies as she fired a three-over 75. Elena Melich is in a tie for 33rd after shooting a six-over 78. Jacee Fields and Ragini Navet are tied for 40th after Fields fired an eight-over 80 to go along with Navet's 11-over 83.
Texas State jumped ULM in the team standing to take the lead heading into the third round. Following Wednesday's round, the top-four teams will advance to match play on Thursday. Georgia Southern, Old Dominion and Marshall round out the top of the leaderboard. Melich is two strokes off of individual leader Daniela Campillo (ULM) and Hailey Jones (Texas State) is in second after posting the low score of the day.
The third round will start at 8 a.m. CST on Wednesday – pairings have yet to be released. Click HERE for live scoring.
