Zayne Palomino Set to Compete Saturday in the NCAA Indoor Championships

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss high jumper Zayne Palomino will participate in the NCAA Indoor Championships, Saturday, March 9, at 12 noon CT. The event is taking place at The Track at New Balance, in Boston.
Palomino, who will be among the top 16 high jumpers in the competition, won three of his five high jump events during the season, including the Sun Belt Conference championship with a leap of 2.20 meters. That mark was his personal best and was the one that also earned him the qualification in this event.
His other victories came at the Vulcan Invite with a 2.18 leap, while tying for first at the Vandy Invite with a 2.13. He added a 2.13 attempt at Houston that placed second, while a mark of 2.16 at the Music City Invitational, helped him place fourth.
