Men's and Women's Tennis Set for Busy Weekend in Hattiesburg

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – A lot of tennis is set to be played at the Southern Miss Tennis Complex this weekend as the Southern Miss men's tennis team hosts Jacksonville State and Tennessee State, while women's tennis hosts Texas State on Saturday at 10 a.m..
The men's team opens with the Gamecocks Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. The Golden Eagles are coming off an impressive 4-1 win over Sun Belt foe Coastal Carolina on Wednesday. Dakotah Bobo and Henry Lamchinniah beat the No. 68-ranked doubles pair in the country in the win.
Olimjon Nabiev and Olle Noltorp both picked up their fourth win of the season in singles play against the Chanticleers. Lamchinniah clinched the match as he won his third-straight singles contest. Jacksonville State is 8-6 and five wins in its last seven matches. The Gamecocks are coming off a 4-3 loss to Georgia Southern last Monday.
The Tigers will head to Hattiesburg on Sunday for an 11 a.m. first serve on the men's side. Tennessee State is 3-10 on the season but have back-to-back wins over Nicholls and New Orleans. Its other win came on the road at Lipscomb.
The women's tennis team is coming off 4-1 win over Alcorn State on March 2. They are paced by Suhana Das' three wins in singles play. Five other Golden Eagles have at least two wins in singles action. In doubles, Alyssa Richter and Hannah Chambers have a team-best three wins.
Texas State women's tennis is 6-2 and riding a six-match winning streak after dropping matches to North Florida and UTSA. The Bobcats have rattled off wins over Incarnate Word, Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin, Lamar, New Mexico State and UTRGV.
