SADDLEBROOKE, Ariz. – Southern Miss women's golf is in 12th after one round of golf at the MountainView Collegiate at The Preserve Golf Club. Momoka Ando and Merche Corbacho are both tied for 29th in Saddlebrooke, Ariz.
Ando and Corbacho both fired two-over par en route to a first-round 74. Both had a pair of birdies - each on the front and back nine. Alma Betoret had a team-high three birdies as she shot a three-over 75 to sit in a tie for 43rd. Ragini Navet carded a five-over 77, while Elena Melich shot an eight-over 80.
South Florida leads the field after shooting six under as a team. Houston, Texas A&M, Kansas State and Missouri round of the top-five. Melanie Green of South Florida leads the field after a five-under 67.
Melich leads off Southern Miss in round two as the Spaniard goes off hole 10 at 10:30 a.m. CST. The rest of the Golden Eagles will follow Melich every nine minutes. Click here for live scoring.
