Men’s Golf Sits Tied for 16th Place after Opening Day at Dufner-Tiger Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Both Ryan Dupuy and Thongpipat Rattanyanon rank tied for 30th after the opening day of the Dufner-Tiger Invitational, while Southern Miss sits in a 16th place tie when play was suspended due to darkness late in the second round.
The tournament is being held at the par 72, 7,591-yard Auburn University Club and the 18-team field was supposed to play 36 holes on this day, but the second round could not be completed before darkness with the team's members having two to five holes left to play before start round 3.
Dupuy was tied for 10th place after the end of the first round by firing a 74, before shooting a six-over with three holes left in the second round. Rattanayanon opened his day with a round of 76 and is four-over with five holes left in his second circuit.
The Golden Eagles shot a 26-over 314 in the opening round and are 21-over for the second round, tying them with Wichita State for 16th.
Host Auburn holds a commanding 11-stroke lead over UNCW with a plus-six as a team.
The tournament concludes the second round at 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, before going directly to the third and final round. Fans can follow the live scoring by clicking here.
