Baseball Announces 2025 Schedule

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss second-year baseball coach Christian Ostrander announced the school's 55-game, 2025 schedule Thursday morning.
A 31-game home schedule awaits the Golden Eagles, including 12 contests coming against teams which made the NCAA Tournament a year ago. In all, seven opponents that reached postseason play last spring comprise a total 15 of the 55 scheduled contests to highlight the team's overall slate.
The season ticket renewal process for the 31-game home schedule will begin Monday, Oct. 28.
Southern Miss comes off a 43-20 record, a 20th NCAA Tournament appearance, and its second Sun Belt Conference tournament championship in as many seasons. They finished second in the league during the regular season at 20-10. With an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, the Golden Eagles went to the Knoxville Regional and lost to eventual national champion Tennessee in the championship game. It was the second time in three seasons Southern Miss was eliminated by the school that went on to win the national championship.
Seven teams on this year's slate ended their previous season ranked in the Top 50 in the final NCAA RPI. An additional six finished in the Top 100.
Those top 50 schools include Mississippi State (No. 19), Alabama (No. 28), Louisiana Tech (No. 33), Ole Miss (No. 36), UNCW (No. 38), Louisiana (No. 41) and TCU (No. 42). Rounding out the Top 100 opponents are No. 59 Troy, No. 69 Nicholls, No. 70 South Alabama, No. 72 App State, No. 79 Old Dominion, and No. 82 Tulane.
The Golden Eagles open the season, Feb. 14-16, with a four-game series against Lafayette. The Leopards make their first-ever trip to Hattiesburg. The opening series includes a 12-noon doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 15, for the program's only scheduled twinbill of the season.
Following a midweek showdown with Mississippi State at home, Tuesday, Feb. 18, Southern Miss then plays host to Louisiana Tech, Feb. 21-23, for a three-game series, before hitting the road game for the first time at Ole Miss, Feb. 25 .
The program then travels to Fort Worth, Texas, to face perennial power, TCU, Feb. 28-Mar. 2. A March 4 date then awaits the team at Mississippi State, before finishing non-conference weekend play at home with UNCW, March 7-9.
The Golden Eagles continue home for a single contest against UTRGV, March 11, before embarking on Sun Belt Conference play. Southern Miss opens league action against Old Dominion (March 14-16) at home and will also play host to SBC foes South Alabama (March 28-30), Georgia State (April 17-19), Arkansas State (May 2-4) and Louisiana (May 9-11).
Road league series include at ULM (March 21-23), Marshall (April 4-6), Texas State (April 11-13), App State (April 25-27) and Troy (May 15-17).
In addition, Southern Miss plays home non-conference contests against Tulane (April 1 and April 22), Southeastern Louisiana (April 23) and New Orleans (April 29). For midweek travel tilts, the team hits the road to face Alabama (April 8) and Southeastern Louisiana (April 15), while also playing neutral site games at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Miss., when they meet Ole Miss (March 18) as well as playing against Nicholls at Keesler Federal Park (March 25) in Biloxi, Miss.
The top 10 teams from the Sun Belt regular season will then meet in Montgomery, Ala., May 20-25, for the league's baseball championship tournament. Those games will be played at Riverwalk Stadium, the home of the Montgomery Biscuits, and Double A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.
