
Women's Golf Climbs Into Fourth at USA Intercollegiate

MOBILE, Ala. -- Momoka Ando and Ragini Navet highlighted the Southern Miss women's golf team as they climbed into fourth place at the USA Intercollegiate at Magnolia Grove.
Ando fired an even-par 72 to climb into a tie for 13th after starting the day in 24th. The junior carded three birdies on the day and is now two-over par through two rounds. Navet enjoyed a one-over 73 to move into 13th and finished with a pair of birdies on the front nine. Elena Melich joined the two in 13th after a two-over 74 on Sunday morning.
Sophomore Taylor Trible moved up 14 spots into 34th after an even-par 72. The sophomore had three birdies on that day that offset a trio of bogeys. Alma Betoret improved her day one score by three strokes and had a one-over 73 to move into 28th. Fernanda Gorostiaga and Jacee Fields both finished with a three-over 75, while Fields' score was a four-stroke improvement from Saturday. Merche Corbacho is in a tie for 43rd after a five-over 77.
The Golden Eagles will tee off at 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning with a shotgun start. Southern Miss is three strokes behind third-place Jacksonville State and five behind Middle Tennessee. ULM leads the event by 19 strokes.
