Men’s Golf Trio Earn GCAA All-America Scholars

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss trio of Cameron Clarke (Pittsboro, Miss.), Ryan Dupuy (Baton Rouge, La.) and Thongpipat Rattanyanon (Bangkok, Thailand) each earned All-America Scholar honors by the Golf Coaches Association of America in a release by the organization this week.
This is the second-straight year for Rattanayanon to earn this award and the first for both Clarke and Dupuy.
To be eligible for GCAA All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds and have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
This is the ninth year in a row that Southern Miss men's golf enjoyed at least one GCAA All-America Scholar and third time in the last four years that they have tied a program high with three.
