Women's Tennis Adds Sakura Sudo to Roster

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss women's tennis team has announced the signing of Sakura Sudo for the 2023-24 season.
"We are excited about the addition of Sakura to our program," said head coach Nui Engineer. "She will make an immediate impact to our team and provide a high tennis IQ. Her experience at the international level is going to help out team."
Sudo is a native of Tokyo, Japan, and started playing tennis at the age of nine. She has played in two national championships, with the first one coming at the age of 14. She finished in the top-eight in both appearances.
The Tokyo product won the U18 regional tournament as a 17-year-old and was a two-time winner at the national tournament. She finished runner-up twice.
