Beach Volleyball Falls in Regular Season Finale at Tulane

ELMWOOD, La. – Southern Miss beach volleyball falls in final matches of the 2023 regular season to 17th-ranked Tulane. Hallie Phelan and Taylor Pierce enjoyed an undefeated day to collect both of the Golden Eagles' points.
Game One – No. 17 Tulane 4, Southern Miss 1
Tulane (22-8, 1-1 C-USA) opened their senior day celebrations with a 4-1 victory over Southern Miss (15-22). The Green Wave swept all but one of their points as Hallie Phelan (Madison, Miss. // Madison Central HS) and Taylor Pierce (Covington, La. // Mandeville HS) outlasted the Green Wave's second pair in three sets.
Phelan and Pierce's comeback is more impressive considering the first set ended in a 30-28 Tulane decision.

Phelan and Pierce paired for their 11th match of the year and swept the Green Wave's 2s. The duo finished the regular season 6-5 overall with the same mark at the second position.
