James Madison and No. 23 Old Dominion Top Golden Eagles on East Coast Trip

NORFOLK, Va. -- The Southern Miss (6-6, 1-4 Sun Belt) women's tennis team fell to James Madison (9-5, 5-0 Sun Belt) and No. 23 Old Dominion (10-4, 5-0 Sun Belt) this weekend during a trip out East. The Golden Eagles fell 4-1 to the Dukes on Saturday and then 4-0 to the Monarchs on Sunday.
Alyssa Richter and Ebru Zeynep Yazgan started Saturday with a doubles win at the top spot against Kylie Moulin and Ines Oliveria, 6-2. The other two Southern Miss pairings dropped their games to set up James Madison for the doubles point. In singles play, Zenn Lim cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win on court four against Oliveria. Maddison Ricardo and Hannah Chambers went unfinished on court five and six.
Sofia Johnson and Tatsiana Sasnouskaya, who are the No. 36 ranked doubles pair in the country, picked up a 6-2 win over Yazgan and Richter in doubles on court one. Suhana Das was tasked with taking on No. 20 Sasnouskaya on court one in singles play, but fell 6-0, 6-3.
The Golden Eagles return to Hattiesburg on Saturday, April 1 to host Georgia Southern at 10 a.m. A free kids clinic will follow the men's and women's matches.
