HATTIESBURG, Miss. – A busy day is in store for Hattiesburg and Southern Miss Athletics this Saturday, Feb. 18, as the school will play host to a 12 noon men's basketball game and a 4 p.m. baseball game, coupled with the Hattiesburg Mardi Gras parade, which is scheduled to run at 1 p.m. along the perimeter of the Golden Eagle campus.
We ask that everyone exercise patience related to parking, accessing campus for games, and leaving campus to get home. Please allow yourself plenty of travel time to make it to campus and the games on time.
The following are details regarding campus entrance and exit, parking passes and lots, and other items are listed below:
* For the men's basketball game, please enter campus from 38th Ave. and 4th St. or Service Rd. and 4th St. All of Hardy St. in front of campus will be shut down to all traffic due to the Mardi Gras Parade. When leaving the basketball game, you will be directed to exit heading east on W. 4th St. to the Service Rd. that runs parallel with Highway 49.
* For the baseball game, please enter campus from the intersection of Service Rd. and W. 4th St.
* Please remember that parking will be limited on campus all day on February 18. Please exercise patience with parking guards, security personnel, athletics staff members, and police and allow yourself enough travel time.
* Men's basketball parking passes will be honored for the basketball game, with lots opening at 9 a.m. All fans with a parking pass for Men's Basketball must relocate to the appropriate parking area for the baseball game or leave after the men's basketball game concludes. Any cars that are inappropriately parked (i.e. do not have the correct parking pass for the baseball game) will be subject to towing.
* Baseball parking passes will be honored starting at 1 p.m. This will present some challenges with lots being filled by basketball ticket holders, so please exercise patience until fans leave following the men's basketball game.
* Additionally, parking lots could become full due to the nature of so many events on and around campus. Staff will do their best to make sure only fans with proper parking passes park in the reserved lots for both the men's basketball and baseball games.
