
Women's Golf Concludes First Two Rounds of Dale MacNamara Invitational

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. -- The Southern Miss women's golf team wrapped up day one as the highest non-ranked team on the Dale MacNamara Invitational leaderboard, sitting in 10th after two rounds. The Golden Eagles were in fifth after the first round before dropping down the leaderboard by days end -- all nine teams in front of Southern Miss are ranked inside the top-100 of the Golf Week/Sagarin Rankings.
Momoka Ando extended her streak of par-or-better rounds to seven, which dates back to the second round of the USA Intercollegiate. The junior opened the tournament with an even-par 72 and added a one-under 71 in the afternoon round. Ando sits tied for 11th after enjoying a team-high seven birdies. Elena Melich was the low finisher in the first round for Southern Miss after opening the tournament with a one-under 71. Melich then fired a five-over 77 and is in a tie for 36th.
Taylor Trible carded back-to-back three-over 75's to fall into a tie for 48th. Jacee Fields started the day with a five-over 77 before knocking off two strokes for a three-over 75 in the second round. Fields is in a tie for 60th, while Ragini Navet is in 82nd.
Tuesday's final round will tee off at 8:30 a.m. via a shotgun start. Live scoring can be found here.
