Men’s Golf Heads West to Play in Oregon State Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's golf team returns to action for its third event of the fall season when they open play Monday morning in the Oregon State Invitational at Corvallis, Ore.
The Golden Eagles play in this event for the second consecutive year and open things at 10:15 a.m. CT Monday with shotgun start at the par 71, 7,384-yard Trysting Tree Golf Club. The team plays 36 continuous holes during the day before the tournament's completion with 18 more holes Tuesday.
Southern Miss captured a tournament title in one of two events that they have participated in this fall, winning the Argent Financial Classic that was played in Choudrant, La.
The five-man squad for the tournament consists of seniors Robbie Latter (Mississauga, Ontario) and Thongpipat Rattanayanon (Bangkok, Thailand), junior Ryan Dupuy (Baton Rouge, La.), redshirt freshman Walker Wise (Tupelo, Miss.) and freshman Supakorn Amornchaichan (Pattaya City, Thailand).
Latter and Rattanayanon lead the team in low scoring rounds this fall as they have compiled a 70.67 and 70.83 over their first two events, while Amornchaichan is third at 72.
The 15-team field includes host Oregon State, Washington State, Utah, Long Beach State, Sam Houston, Arkansas State, Pacific, Tarleton State, Utah Tech, Idaho, Seattle, Gonzaga, Boise State and Arizona State.
