Former Outfielder Reed Trimble Extended an Arizona Fall League Invite

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Former Southern Miss outfielder Reed Trimble earned a spot in the Arizona Fall League in an announcement made late last week by Major League Baseball.
Trimble, who played for the Golden Eagles during the 2020 and 2021 seasons, compiled a .335 batting average with 16 doubles, two triples, 18 home runs and 84 RBI over 70 career games.
After losing most of his first year to COVID, Trimble responded in his only full season with the program by tying for the nation's lead in RBI (72), while also earning second team All-America honors by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and a third-team nod by Perfect Game. He also garnered Freshman All-America accolades from both Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball.
Trimble, a first-team All-Conference USA selection as well, earned All-Regional team honors in Oxford his final season by hitting .560 (14x25) with eight runs, two doubles, three home runs and 14 RBI in leading his team to the championship game.
Trimble then was drafted in the Competitive B Round by the Baltimore Orioles with the No. 65 pick. In two seasons of professional baseball, Trimble has put together a .246 batting mark with eight doubles, two home runs and 26 RBI in 55 career contests.
He has been assigned to play for the Scottsdale Scorpions with their home park being Scottsdale Stadium.
The schedule begins Oct. 3 and runs through the championship game Nov. 12. Trimble joins the likes of former Golden Eagles Tony Phillips, Tommy Davis, Cody Carroll, Kirk McCarty and Matt Wallner who have also had the opportunity to play in this league.
