Sandlin was recalled to the Guardians on July 5, and appeared in his first day back with an inning of relief against Detroit, giving up two runs on three hits with a pair of strikeouts.

Was designated for assignment following the game and the Guardians had seven days on either a trade or by placing him on irrevocable waivers. (Update: Kirk was acquired off waivers by Baltimore and assigned to Triple A Norfolk)

Carroll has only allowed one run over his last four appearances, spanning 6.0 innings, including a two-inning start versus Reno (July 1) in which he did not allow a run or hit with a pair of strikeouts. Has eight strikeouts over that stretch with no walks.
Chuckie Robinson (C, Louisville Bats – Cincinnati Reds)
Season stats (45 games): .264/.318/.399, 19 R, 43 H, 7 2B, 5 HR, 17 RBI, 12 BB, 4 SB
Robinson was called up to Triple-A on June 10 and belted his second home run with his AAA club June 29 with a solo shot at Toledo. Hitting .400 over his last four games with two homers and three RBI over that span.

In two relief outings last week, Keys allowed two runs over 5 1/3 innings, including a 3 1/3 scoreless relief stint versus Birmingham (July 3). He allowed one hits and walked two with one strikeout. He earned a victory in his last outing versus Birmingham.
Walker Powell (RHP, Tennessee Smokies – Chicago Cubs)
Season stats (21 games): 7-1, 3.45 ERA, 57.1 IP, 47 H, 24 R, 22 ER, 9 BB, 52 K, .223 B/AVG
Promoted to AA on July 3 and made his first appearance that evening in a start against Rocket City. Suffered first loss of the year in only his second start of the season but limited the Trash Pandas to just two runs over four innings on six hits with a walk and three strikeouts in his Smokies debut. Also, threw three scoreless frames in his final outing in South Bend in which he allowed three hits and fanned four at Beloit (June 30) before promotion.
Matt Wallner (OF, Wichita Wind Surge – Minnesota Twins)
Season stats (72 games): .283/.423/.590, 55 R, 69 H, 13 2B, 3B, 20 HR, 58 RBI, 56 BB, 8 SB
Wallner continues his hot tear through the Texas League as he leads that circuit in RBI, while also ranking second in home runs and walks, as well as fifth in runs, slugging percentage and OPS (on-base plus slugging/1.013). Had a pair of two home run games over the last week, including one on July 4 versus Amarillo.
