Women's Golf Concludes Day Two Play at Chattanooga Classic

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- The Southern Miss women's golf team wrapped up the second round of play at the Chattanooga Classic on Monday afternoon and sits in 12th with one round remaining. Freshman Momoka Ando posted the best round of the day for Southern Miss, firing a three-over 75 at Council Fire Golf Club.
Ando recorded one birdie and sits tied for 47th. Freshman Elena Melich leads the Golden Eagles on the individual leaderboard tied for 23rd. The Guadalajara, Spain native carded a four-over 76 today and drained two birdie putts on the back nine to stay in contention. Southern Miss benefited seven birdies on the day and got three from Merche Corbacho.
Junior Friend Chompitakdacha fired a six-over 78 today and moved to 51st. Tenley Moretti improved seven strokes on day two, firing a seven-over 79. The senior netted one birdie.
Southern Miss will look to move up the leaderboard during the final round on Tuesday. Moretti will lead the Golden Eagles off the 10thtee box at 8:30 a.m.
