HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss women's basketball faces another key Conference USA West matchup tomorrow night against UAB at Bartow Arena. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.

Scouting the Blazers
• Randy Norton enters his ninth season as the head coach of UAB women's basketball team in the 2021-22 season, compiling a 162-109 record to this point.
• Zakyia Weathersby is sixth in the NCAA with 19 double-doubles, 15th with 11.3 rebounds per game and 11th with 4.2 offensive rebounds per game. She ranks first in Conference USA shooting percentage (55.8%), and total rebounds (306).
• Emily Klaczek set a career-high with 26 points in UAB's 86-70 win over WKU on Jan. 27. She scored 16 points in the 2nd quarter, going 5-for-5 from the field, 4-of-4 from 3-point range and a pair of foul shots.
A Southern Miss Win Would...
• Keep USM in the mix for one of the top-two spot in the West and a double-bye.
• Break a six-game skid to the Blazers.
• Put the Lady Eagles back in the win column after dropping their last two contests.
SOUTHERN MISS - UAB SERIES
• Southern Miss and UAB have battled 68 times on the hardwood, with tomorrow's matchup making UAB the most played opponent in program history, surpassing Tulane, who USM has played 68 times as well.
• The Lady Eagles have dominated at home in the series, holding a 24-9 mark, but are .500 on the road, at 16-16.
• Since McNelis took the helm, Southern Miss is 16-16 against UAB.
LAST MEETING: Feb. 10, 2022 USM 61 - UAB 68
• In a battle for the top spot in the west division, Southern Miss women's basketball was unable to overcome a sluggish start falling to UAB, 68-61, at Reed Green Coliseum, ending their four-game win streak.
• In a night where the Lady Eagles struggled to get going offensively, Kelsey Jones and Brikayla Gray were a pair of bright spots. Jones finished the contest with a teamleading 14 points, while Gray joined her in double-figures with 12 points to go along with a team-high seven rebounds. Senior Daishai Almond dished out seven assists.
