DALLAS – Southern Miss sophomore right-hander Tanner Hall (Zachary, La.) earned the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week honors, presented by Surf & Turf Golf, and released Monday by the league office.
Hall was masterful against then-No. 18 Tulane in the midweek last Wednesday night. He limited Tulane to just four hits – two of those coming in the eighth inning – as he allowed an unearned run with no walks and eight strikeouts over eight innings of work to post the victory and improve to 2-0 on the season.
For the outing, Hall threw 92 pitches, including 77 for strikes, for an 84 percent strike-to-ball ratio. He has not allowed an earned run over his last 16 innings in a starting role.
In addition, Hall retired the first nine batters he faced and retired the Wave in order in five innings.
Louisiana Tech's Taylor Young won the C-USA Hitter of the Week honors.
This was the first C-USA weekly award for Southern Miss baseball this spring and first for Hall.
