Southern Miss Closes Indoor Regular Season at Music City Challenge

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss track and field team returns to the David Williams II Recreation and Wellness Center in Nashville, competing at the Music City Challenge for their final tune-up before the Conference USA Indoor Championships next weekend.

Janique Burgher and Corvell Todd start the competition for the Golden Eagles in the high jump on Friday at 2:30 p.m CT, while Rebecca DeKay, Kate Mattox, Sarah Parnell and Olwia Wawrzyniak kick things off on the track at 5 p.m. CT with the mile.
On Saturday, Katelyn Cartwright opens on the track with the 800m, and school-record holder Fred Moudani competes in the shot put, both at 10 a.m. CT.
Southern Miss will face competition from Alabama, Arkansas State, Cincinnati, Duke, Eastern Kentucky, FIU, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kennesaw State, Kentucky, Lipscomb, LSU, Memphis, Meridian Community College, Miami [Ohio], Michigan State, Mississippi State, Murray State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Samford, SMU, Southern Illinois, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UMass Lowell, Vanderbilt, Villanova, and Western Illinois.
Overall, the Golden Eagles will have 25 athletes set to compete, with 20 on the women's side and 15 on the men's side.
