Golden Eagles Embark on Florida Swing

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss men's basketball team hits the road for the Sunshine State to face FIU (12-9, 2-6 C-USA) on Thursday night before heading to Boca Raton on Saturday. The Golden Eagles (6-14, 1-6 C-USA) will tip from Ocean Bank Convocation Center in Miami, Fla. at 6 p.m. CST.

The Need to Know
- The Golden Eagles head to Miami on a three-game losing skid after falling to North Texas and Rice last weekend.
- Junior Tyler Stevenson's 1,071 career points put him at No. 35 on the all-time scoring list and he is just the 17th player in program history to simultaneously reach 500 rebounds.
- Stevenson is averaging a career-high 14.1 PPG and 8.1 RPG -- both lead the Golden Eagles.
- Junior DeAndre Pinckney is averaging 11.6 PPG and 6.0 RPG in C-USA games. The Carol City, Fla. native averaged 8.6 PPG and 5.4 RPG last season in C-USA games.
- Pinckney played high school basketball 21 miles from Ocean Bank Convocation Center at Carol City High School.
- In Saturday's, freshman Jaron Pierre, Jr. exploded for a career-high 29 points on 7-of-18 shooting from deep. His 18 three-pointers attempts are the second-most by a Golden Eagle in a single game.
- After missing four games, junior Isaih Moore went for seven points and six rebounds in Saturday's loss to Rice.
- Southern Miss leads the all-time series, 7-2. The Golden Eagles have won the last four meetings dating back to 2018.
