HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss uses another dominant second half to put away Mississippi College 74-42 at Reed Green Coliseum. The Lady Eagles extend their win streak to four-straight and remain undefeated in Reed Green Coliseum.
Tale of the Tape
Once again, a high-scoring third quarter proved to the be spark Southern Miss (5-2, 0-0 Sun Belt) needed to propel themselves over Mississippi College (2-5, 1-3 Gulf South). Domonique Davis (DeRidder, La. // LSU) dropped 24 points in the contest, the 11th time scoring 20+ in her career with the Lady Eagles.
Femi Funeus (Plantation, Fla. // Seton Hall) made her first start as a Lady Eagle, returning to the starting lineup for the first time in 719 days. Melyia Grayson (Hattiesburg, Miss. // Hattiesburg HS) joined her as she made her first start since Nov. 16.
Grayson wasted no time making her presence known, scoring the first two baskets of the game. Grayson finished 8-of-11 from the floor and 3-of-5 from the charity stripe, tallying a season-high 19 points. She also grabbed four boards, two steals and two blocks.
