Women's Golf Middle of the Pack Through Two Rounds in Seattle

SEATTLE, Wash. -- The Southern Miss women's golf team is in 10th place after two rounds on Monday at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational in Seattle, Wash. Southern Miss sat in a tie for second after the first round after a quartet of Golden Eagles combined to shoot five-over par.Â
Freshman Taylor Trible tied her career low during her morning round, shooting a one-over 73. The Birmingham, Ala. native netted three birdies during that round and then added a fourth birdie in her afternoon round to finish tied for 45th heading into Tuesday.Â
Elena Melich and Friend Chompitakdacha each sit tied for 20th thanks for a three-over par score on day one. Melich fired a two-over 74 during her first round and then finished her day with a one-over 73. Chompitakdacha flipped those scores and used four first-round birdies to stay in the hunt.Â
Momoka Ando, who finished in second place during her last tournament, is tied for 45th following a five-over 77 second round. The Sophomore opened her morning round with a one-over 73 that featured three birdies. Jacee Fields fired a four-over 76 in the first round and is tied for 99th.Â
Southern Miss combined for 25 birdies during the 36-hole day, including a team-high seven from Melich. The Golden Eagles will start the third round with an 8 a.m. shotgun start at Tacoma Golf and Country Club.
