Men's Tennis is Tuscaloosa Bound for ITA Regionals

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss men's tennis is set to compete in the ITA Regionals in Tuscaloosa, Ala. starting on Thursday, Oct. 13. Nine Golden Eagles will start in the Qualifying Draw at Alabama, while Olimjon Nabiev qualified directly into the Main Draw.

Southern Miss gets started with Alan Sanson going against UAB's Martin Vasquez at 9 a.m. Other Golden Eagles to follow include Dakota Bobo, Saheb Sodhi, Pasawee Reansuwong, Alexander Gima, Pawin Jirapoomdaje and Antoine Audrain. In total, seven Southern Miss players will start between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. in the Qualifying Draw.

Shamirul Shahril and Taras Ignatiuk received a bye in the first round and will go directly to the second round. Shahril will take on the winner of Parker Chase (UAB) and Arnav Pathange (Alabama A&M) at 2 p.m. Ignatiuk is slated to play Carlos Gimenez Perez (UAB) at 12 p.m.

Nabiev qualified straight into the Main Draw and won't play until Friday. The doubles draw has yet to be released but will start on Thursday as well.
