Men’s Golf Sits in Sixth at Oregon State Invitational After Play Suspended in Second Round

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss sophomore golfer Ryan Dupuy (Baton Rouge, La.) sits in a sixth-place tie when play was suspended early Monday evening at the Oregon State Invitational in Corvallis, Ore.
The opening day of the tournament, which is being played at the par-71, 7,384-yard Trysting Tree Golf Club, was delayed by 45 minutes at the start due to fog.
The Golden Eagles currently rank in sixth place when play was suspended in the second round with Southern Miss having gotten through either 13 or 14 holes when play was suspended.
Southern Miss found themselves in 11th place after the opening round after the team posted a score of 299.
Dupuy, along with senior Cameron Clarke (Pittsboro, Miss.), shot a three-over 74 in the opening round, while Tommy Latter (Mississauga, Ontario) added a 75 and Robbie Latter (Mississauga, Ontario) posted a 76, while Thongpipat Rattanayanon carded a 79.
Dupuy, who has gotten through 14 holes in the second round, opened his second 18 holes in the event with a birdie and at one point birdied four straight holes and five of six. After firing a 15-over-par in the opening round, the Golden Eagles were at three-under par when the day's action was called.
The teams restart the action at 10:15 p.m. CT, Tuesday, with the second round and go through the final 18 holes right after the conclusion of the second round.
