Men's Basketball Concludes Home Stint With Rice Saturday Afternoon

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss (6-13, 1-5 C-USA) men's basketball team ends its brief home stint this Saturday, Jan. 29, when it hosts Rice )11-8, 4-4 C-USA) at Reed Green Coliseum. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. CST and will be aired on ESPN+.

The Need to Know
- Southern Miss heads into Saturday's contest looking to shake a two-game losing streak after losses to Middle Tennessee and North Texas. The Golden Eagles held leads in both games.
- Junior Tyler Stevenson continues to climb the Southern Miss scoring ranks and is now No. 36 all-time on the scoring list with 1,057 points. He's 10 points from passing Roy Danfort (1958-62).
- Stevenson is averaging 14.4 PPG and 8.1 RPG. He is the highest-scoring player in C-USA to not make a three-pointer this season.Â
- Junior DeAndre Pinckney is averaging 12.3 PPG and 7.6 RPG in C-USA play and has scored at least eight points in all six C-USA contests. He's scored in double figures seven times this season, including a 15-point output against North Texas on Thursday night.Â
- Against North Texas, sophomore Mo Arnold tied his career high in assists with five. His previous season-high was against UNC Wilmington on Nov. 24.
- Freshman Rashad Bolden continues to shoot at an efficient clip after going 3-of-6 from the field against North Texas.Â
