Men's Basketball Opens Homestand on Thursday With North Texas

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss men's basketball (6-12, 1-4 C-USA) will host back-to-back home games for just the third time this season as the Golden Eagles prepare to open their homestand with North Texas (13-4, 6-1 C-USA) on Thursday night. Tipoff from Reed Green Coliseum in scheduled for 7 p.m. CST and will air on ESPN+. Â

The Need to Know
- Southern Miss is coming into Thursday's matchup looking to shake last weekend's loss at Middle Tennessee after losing its lead late in the contest.Â
- Junior Tyler Stevenson continues to climb the Southern Miss scoring ranks and is now No. 36 all-time on the scoring list with 1,040 points. He's 17 points from passing Roy Danforth (1958-62).Â
- Stevenson has scored at least 20 points in each of his last three games and is averaging a team-best 14.2 PPG and is averaging 16.0 PPG in C-USA play.Â
