Women's Tennis Opens Fall Schedule in Natchitoches this Weekend

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Head coach Steve Schram and the Southern Miss women's tennis team head to Louisiana to kick off fall competition this weekend. The Golden Eagles are set to participate in the Natchitoches Women's Care Lady Demon Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Northwestern State.
The Golden Eagles are one of six collegiate programs participating in this weekend's tournament, alongside Stephen F. Austin, Southeastern, ULM, Lamar and host program Northwestern State.
The invitational begins on Friday, Sept. 24 at 8:30 a.m. until around 4 p.m. and restarts on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 9:30 a.m. and will continue until roughly 2:30 p.m.
Unlike spring competition, the fall season does not consist of team scores, and each individual athlete will take part in five singles and two doubles matches.
The Golden Eagles feature six athletes for the fall season, including four returners from the spring 2021 roster. Monique Burton, Suhana Das, Sarah Medik and Ebru Zeynep Yazgan make their return for Southern Miss. Alyssa Ricter of Germany and Clara Tardivel of France make their collegiate debuts for the Golden Eagles this weekend.
