Southern Miss Soccer Soars In Final Exhibition With Win Over ULM

Madison, Miss. – The Southern Miss soccer team soars in 2-0 win over the University of Louisiana Monroe, Saturday, Aug. 14 at Freedom Ridge Park in its final exhibition match of the season.
The Black and Gold were led by Texas native, Ariel Diaz (Lubbock, Texas-Monterey HS-North Texas) as she put the Golden Eagles on top 1-0, in the 60th minute from a fast-break goal, rounding the keeper and slotting it in. Freshman Mia Sadler (Jacksonville, Fla. St. John's Country Day) increased the lead for USM in the 85th minute as she tapped a shot into the bottom right corner.
The Black and Gold will travel south, Thursday, Aug. 19, taking on the Tigers of Louisiana State for a 7 p.m. kickoff for their regular season-opener.
