Southern Miss Soccer Prepares for Senior Day

The Golden Eagles will bid farewell to 11 seniors.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss soccer team will prepare to bid farewell to 11 seniors who will take the home pitch for the final time in their Southern Miss careers on Sunday, April 4 when the Golden Eagles host Louisiana Tech at 2:00 p.m. (CT) at the Southern Miss Soccer Complex.
The senior class is composed of goalkeepers Kendell Mindnich and Sarah Preston, along with midfielders Jenny Caracheo and JoAnnie Ramos, defenders Macie Pennington, Caitlin Pierce, Keely Hoppmeyer, forwards Mackenzie Hamilton, Hailey Pohevitz, Ariel Diaz, and Alice Campos all of which have been a significant part of the Golden Eagles success this season.
The senior class has helped the program turn the corner saving their best season for last. The Golden Eagles have had much success on their 2021 campaign notching wins over fierce competitors such as South Alabama and perennial C-USA power North Texas. The Golden Eagles remain undefeated at home with a record of 3-0 at the Southern Miss Soccer Complex. The Golden Eagles are 3-2 in C-USA play and control their own destiny with a chance to play at the Conference USA Championship in Houston, Texas.

"These ladies have shown a great amount of maturity and growth in such a difficult time," said coach Mohammed El Zare. "They are leaving the program in a much better state than they found it! I wish them all well and much success in their future plans and endeavors."
The Golden Eagles will be seeking their fourth conference win of the season when they take the field on Sunday afternoon. The senior class has paid their dues this season and look to make a 2021 postseason run.
The Southern Miss seniors will be honored for their time and dedication to the soccer program on the field prior to Sunday's match versus conference rival Louisiana Tech beginning at 2:00 p.m. CT.
