Southern Miss to Host Loyola on Saturday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss women's tennis team will look to stay hot when it hosts Loyola (New Orleans) at 11 a.m. Saturday. Admission is free.

This also marks the penultimate home match of the season. The Golden Eagles wrap up the home slate Friday, April 2 against Alcorn for Senior Day.

Southern Miss (7-2) has won four in a row overall and 22-straight at home. The squad got more great news this week as sophomore Sarah Medik was named C-USA's Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week on Wednesday. She went 4-0 over singles and doubles in last weekend's home sweep of LA Tech and UAB.

Ebru Zeynep Yazgan remains a team-best 8-1 in singles, as well as 5-3 with Medik in doubles. Medik, Stephanie Booth and Katia de la Garza are all 5-3. Tanit Lopez also made her season debut against LA Tech on Sunday.

Loyola is 3-4 on the year after splitting its four-match SSAC round-up last weekend. This is the first all-time meeting between the schools.
