HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's golf team returns to action this weekend when they participate in the 14-team Old Waverly Collegiate Classic in West Point, Miss.
The event will be played at the Old Waverly Golf Club – a par 72, 7,088-yard course – and will feature Alabama, Arkansas, ETSU, Georgia, Kansas State, Little Rock, LSU, host Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Vanderbilt along with the Golden Eagles.
The tournament will play 18 holes a day over a three-day period starting on Friday with players teeing off at holes No. 1 and No. 10. Due to expected bad weather, the opening round is not slated to begin until 10 a.m., on Friday.
Southern Miss is coming off a tournament in which they finished second in the Grand Canyon University Invitational earlier this month in Phoenix, Ariz.
The Golden Eagles will use the five-man team of Brice Wilkinson, Hunter Atkins, Matt Lorenz, Robbie Latter and Brian Richards in the tournament.
Atkins finished fourth in the GCU Invitational, while Lorenz collected a 15th-place tie.
