Softball Prepares for a Three Games Series Versus Samford

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss Softball team prepares to take on Samford in three games over the weekend. The Golden Eagles will host the Bulldogs on Saturday, March 20 in a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m. (CT). Following the Saturday's doubleheader, the Golden Eagles will travel to Homewood, Alabama for a single game on Sunday, March 21 at 1:00 p.m. (CT).
Golden Eagles to watch
The Golden Eagles and the Bulldogs have met only once in program history. The two teams met in 2016 resulting in a 4-3 Golden Eagle victory.
Update on Ticket Sales
A limited number of single game tickets are available for this weekend's game. First priority will be given to individuals who are on the waiting list for softball season tickets. There will be an additional release of student tickets while limited individual game tickets will be made available for advanced sale.
Individual game tickets will be sold only during the week of scheduled contests and will be available Monday at 8:00 am through Friday at noon each week. No tickets will be sold at facility box offices on gameday.

Golden Eagles to watch
- Destini Brown has been playing with an edge for the Golden Eagles leading the team with 22 walks, three triples and 25 runs scored. Brown was recently named the C-USA Hitter of the Week.
- Alyssa Davis is a top contender for Southern Miss, starting in all 25 games for the Golden Eagles. She has earned eight runs on 26 hits, three doubles, two home runs, and 16 RBIs.
- Kaylan Ladner leads Southern Miss in the circle with seven wins and only one loss this season. She has pitched a total of 44.0 innings while striking out 54 batters at the plate.
- Amanda Briskin leads the Bulldogs with a .346 batting average. She has recorded nine runs on 18 total hits while registering one double and one RBI.
- Ryan Brzozoski is hitting .315 batting after 54 appearances at the plate. She has logged four runs on 17 hits, one double, and seven RBIs.
- Emily Barnett has a current ERA of 2.32 and has pitched 48.1 innings for the Bulldogs.
