Golden Eagles Complete First Two Rounds of Paradise Invitational

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Friend Chompitakdacha (22nd place) and Merche Corbacho (29) have led the Southern Miss women's golf team through Monday's 36 holes at the FAU Paradise Invitational.
Chompitakdacha carded a team-high five birdies as part of a 3-over 147. Corbacho's 73 is the lowest first-round score of her four-tournament career, and she and Chompitakdacha each had instances of consecutive birdies.Â
Pichardo lowered her second-round score by five strokes, with the 75 matching a season-low. Emily Cox also cut seven off her score, the second-best improvement in the field.
The Golden Eagles, who moved up two spots with their three-stroke improvement in the second round, wrap up play Tuesday morning with the field beginning at 6:30 a.m. CT.
