Southern Miss Closes Non-Conference Slate at FAU Pre-Christmas Tournament
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Lady Eagles of Southern Miss women's basketball travel to Boca Raton, Fla. to take part in the FAU Pre-Christmas Tournament on Sunday and Monday with contests against Alabama A&M and Richmond.

Scouting Alabama A&M
• Head coach Margaret Richards holds a 41-44 record with the Bulldogs and is in her fourth season with the program.
• A&M enters its game with Southern Miss with a record of 1-7 and looks to turn its season around before conference play.
• The Bulldogs' lone victory came against Samford on Dec. 9 by a score of 72-47. USM defeated Samford earlier in the year, 71-66.
• Nigeria Jones leads the Bulldogs, with an average of 10 points per game. She has also shot 13-of-14 from the free throw line to start the season and has accumulated 13 steals.
Scouting Richmond
• Head coach Aaron Roussell holds a 34-30 record with the Spiders and is currently in his third season at the helm of Richmond's program.
• Richmond enters the tournament at 6-4.
• The Spiders have won back-to-back games after picking up a win on Wednesday over Longwood.
• Addie Budnik's is currently 5th in nation with 3.89 blocks per game. She also leads the Spiders in points per game and is shooting the rock at a 56.9% clip.
Scouting Southern Miss
• Daishai Almond, Kelsey Jones and Destiny Smith have all been with the Lady Eagles since their freshman season and bring a combined 241 games played to the table.
• Southern Miss has scored more than 50% of its points from inside the paint in all but two contests this season.
• Dating back to the 2019-20 season, Southern Miss is 14-1 when holding opponents under 70 points, with the only loss coming against FIU in OT last season. Consequently, the Lady Eagles are 0-14 when giving up 70 or more.
• Southern Miss currently leads Conference USA with 16.6 assists per game.
