Lady Eagles Welcome ULM to Reed Green on Saturday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss women's basketball concludes its opening homestand against the ULM Warhawks at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon from Reed Green Coliseum.

Scouting the Warhawks
• Head Coach Brooks Donald Williams is in her 3rd year of a rebuild with the Warhawks, having posted a 6-47 record to date.
• ULM is off to a 0-1 start, falling to Grambling State in their season opener.
• Kyren Whittington was the leading scorer for ULM, posting 16 points on a 5-of-11 effort from the field.
• The Warhawks are coming off a 3-20 season in 2020-21 and return 10 players, including redshirt junior guard Kierra Brimzy, a Preseason Second-Team All-Sun Belt Conference selection. She averaged 13.7 points and 3.1 rebounds per game while scoring in double figures 15 times last season.
• Sophomore guard Gara Beth Self returns for her third season. Self was the 2019-20 SBC Freshman of the Year, but battled injuries throughout the 2020-21 season while averaging 6.2 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.

• Head Coach Joye Lee-McNelis earned win 500, becoming the 85th DI women's basketball coach to reach the 500 career win mark and join just 34 other active DI coaches with 500 wins on Tuesday with a win over William Carey.
• Transfer Domonique Davis filled up the stat sheet with seven points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals in her first game with the Lady Eagles, while Asia Broughton, Morgan Dillard and Macy Weaver all had their first baskets in the Black and Gold
• A Southern Miss win would be the first time the Lady Eagles have won back-to-back game against the Warhawks since winning eight-straight from 1979-1990.
