Golden Eagles to Host Senior Weekend Against LA Tech

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Â The Golden Eagles return home to the Wellness Center for two final matches in Hattiesburg this weekend against the LA Tech Bulldogs. Southern Miss takes on LA Tech on Friday, Oct. 29 and Saturday, Oct. 30.Â
Kinsley Hanback, Lauren Talbert, Chloe Klusman and Addie Ashton are set to play their last two contests in the Wellness Center this weekend. All four will be honored in a Senior Day celebration following Saturday's contest.
Southern Miss enters this weekend's series with an overall record of 10-14 with a 2-8 mark in Conference USA matches. The Golden Eagles were unsuccessful in two matches against the Rice Owls in Houston last weekend and look to send their four seniors out on a high note.
The Golden Eagles and Lady Techsters are set to continue a series that dates back to 1987. Southern Miss has seen success against LA Tech, winning 24 of the 28 contests between the programs. Head coach Stephanie Radecki holds a 7-1 record against the Lady Techsters with the Golden Eagles.
Since LA Tech joined Conference USA in 2013, Southern Miss holds a 16-1 record in conference tilts. The Golden Eagles have only lost a single match to the Lady Techsters in conference play, and have never conceded a C-USA match to LA Tech in Hattiesburg.
The Golden Eagles will host their final two home matches of the season at the Volleyball Wellness Center this weekend. Southern Miss holds an excellent 9-3 record in Hattiesburg this year and looks to win 10 or more matches at home for the first time since 2017.
As a program, the Golden Eagles lead the C-USA in total kills (1,179) and assists (1,084) and hold the second-most team digs in the conference (1,414). Kenzie Smith's 888 assists are the 10th highest-total in the NCAA and the highest in the conference.
Southern Miss takes on the LA Tech Lady Techsters on Friday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. for Senior Day. Both matches will take place at the Volleyball Wellness Center and admission is free and ESPN+ will stream both contests.
