HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Golden Eagles are set to host the Rice Owls on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 14, for a 4 p.m. kickoff. The Black and Gold sit second in the C-USA West Division with eight points, behind Rice, who holds nine.
The Golden Eagles currently hold a 6-3-2 overall record and a 2-1-2 conference record with 28 goals scored and only 10 allowed.
"We are focusing on ourselves and trusting a great week of development and work. Rice is a great side that we look forward to playing," said Assistant Coach J.P. Valadares.
"The past couple of games we haven't been playing to our full potential. When we play our game, we can beat anyone. I know tomorrow we're going to do just that," noted junior Madisyn Flammia. "We're going to have packed stands, and I know the team is going to show them that we don't lose at home. Rice is a great team, but we're ready, and we're excited."
Series History: Rice leads the all-time series 12-0-1. The first match between the two clubs occurred on Oct. 30, 2005, in Hattiesburg as the Owls won, 2-0.
