Hard-Fought Battles Close Out Fall Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss Men's Tennis concluded its Fall Invitational, its lone competition of the semester, with several hard-fought contests in a flight with South Alabama on Sunday.

Antoine Audrain fought to the finish in the last singles battle of the day, coming back from a 6-4 defeat to win 7-5 and play into an 11-10 decision that found him just short. Southern Miss utilized consistent doubles pairs each day as well.

"This tournament was great for our overall team growth and preparation for the spring," head coach Zubin Engineer said. "We were fortunate to have such a challenging field here, and I know our team got better from the hard work they put in all fall and this weekend."

The Golden Eagles' other competition over the weekend included No. 41 Middle Tennessee and Chattanooga, a squad that was 12-6 last year.

The spring schedule will be announced at a later time.
