Southern Miss Concludes First Day of Fall Action

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss men's tennis team made its long-awaited return to the courts Friday for its annual Fall Invitational.

The Golden Eagle lineup was paired with No. 41 Middle Tennessee for the day, with several hard-fought tilts. Alexander Gima's sophomore debut saw a tiebreaker scenario in the first set before ultimately falling 6-3 in the second.

Freshman Michael Koscinski also saw his first collegiate action, competing in singles and doubles. The doubles tandem of Gima and Antoine Audrain marked the first time they had competed together.

Southern Miss will return to action at 2 p.m. Saturday and at the same time again Sunday. Masks are required upon entry and transit while social distancing is encouraged.
